Day 1: Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne and the Dombes ponds
Morning:
Guided tour of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne by horse-drawn carriage to discover the charming town's flower-filled streets (15th-century covered market, flower-bedecked bridges, half-timbered houses...).
Lunch at a restaurant in Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne to sample Dombes specialties.
Afternoon:
Self-guided tour of the Model Train Museum. Between the real and the imaginary, a fabulous miniature show, unique in France, punctuated by multiple scenes that take you from the Alps to Provence, via Lyon.
Check-in late afternoon at the Mercure 4* hotel in Bourg-en-Bresse
Welcome aperitif - Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Between Bresse and Dombes
Morning:
Discover the secrets of a flamboyant Gothic jewel... The Royal Monastery of Brou in Bourg-en-Bresse, built in the 16th century on the orders of Marguerite of Austria, opens its doors to you. Guided tour of the Eglise de Brou, with its princely tombs, altarpiece, lacework rood screen, stalls and three cloisters.
Continue on to the medieval village of Pérouges.
Lunch in Pérouges, in the heart of the town.
Afternoon:
Guided tour of Pérouges, a former 13th-century weaving village, now classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France": cobbled streets, ramparts, fortress church, lime-tree square... (bring flat shoes).
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Traditional Bresse
Morning:
Visit the Domaine des Saveurs-Les Planons * in Saint-Cyr-sur-Menthon, in the heart of the Bresse bocage. Take a free tour of the 3,300 m2 exhibition hall with its contemporary architecture. Discover the rich heritage of the Bresse region and immerse yourself in the Bresse way of life from the 15th century to the present day. Its collections reveal costumes, enamels, architecture, gastronomy and the world-famous Bresse poultry. Guided tour of the Bresse farmhouse, admirably preserved around its Saracen fireplace.
Lunch in a restaurant in Bourg-en-Bresse.
Afternoon:
Guided tour of the old quarters of Bourg-en-Bresse to discover the rich past of the Bresse capital: half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries, elegant 17th-century stone facades, Notre-Dame Co-Cathedral with its black Madonna, Jacobins Gate...
Free time to stroll or shop in the city center.
Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 4: Ain Valley and Cerdon Country
Morning:
Travel back in time with a visit to the Domaine des Grottes du Cerdon, a prehistoric leisure park. Do you know what treasures lie beneath your feet? Like Jules Verne, set off on a journey to the center of the earth. After a 10-minute walk to the entrance to the underground world, follow the entire course of an ancient underground river, a remnant of the last great ice ages.

Afternoon:
In the heart of the preserved industrial site, discover the captivating adventure of one of Lyon's greatest silk manufacturers of the 19th and 20th centuries. Soieries Bonnet in Jujurieux is an exceptional heritage site, immersing visitors in the world of silk, fashion and boarding factories.
