Saint Vincent de Paul lived in Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne for several months in 1617. During his time in the town he resided in a house on the rue Colbert that is today owned by the Sisters of St Vincent and houses a chapel in his honour.
Saint Vincent de Paul was the parish priest of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne for a while in 1617. The room in the house in which he stayed has been converted into a chapel by the Sisters of Saint Vincent who have owned the property since the 19th century. The chapel contains a copy of his original orders to help the poor, sick and needy of the area.
